I'm not 100% sure where I stand myself!Tokyo Beer Drinkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05437873602652462596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1218518455045527354.post-72512128039441986572015-12-11T11:29:03.311+09:002015-12-11T11:29:03.311+09:00I moved to the area in 2008 and Rogue was my first...I moved to the area in 2008 and Rogue was my first choice for beer. Nice atmosphere and the owner is a really nice guy. Prices are not cheap, but it is a very comfortable place for a quiet pint. Likewise Bicke has been around for a long while, but I'd always resisted the temptation because it didn't seem to have that much to offer apart from Hoegarden and sometimes Leffe. However it might be time to revise that as they seem to have upped their game considerably with the addition of some decent craft ales. CBM arrived in Kichijoji recently. Initially I wasn't too fond of it, but I must admit it has really grown on me and it's the place I am most likely to frequent if I find myself in need of liquid refreshment locally. We visited Camiya once - and to be honest, once was enough. The beer selection was OK, but the prices were outrageous when you can buy the same beer for half the price at CBM. Looked to me like a cafe/bakery catering mainly for the local "ladies who lunch" who don't mind paying over the odds to drink in a more refined environment than your average beer place. Nothing wrong with that - but not for us :-)Beerhoundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02044599479971105748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1218518455045527354.post-90985190181240457262015-10-22T22:49:50.229+09:002015-10-22T22:49:50.229+09:00Thanks for the comments, Al and Alex. Camiya is the most similar (type of beers available) and the most different (price) to CBM, but you're right, they are probably fighting for the same customers. <br />Pleased to hear that Rogue and Bicke have regulars. They are nice places, but even though they are probably not that old (I guess, I don't really know), they definitely felt like they were not particularly on trend in the way that the more recently opened bars are.Tokyo Beer Drinkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05437873602652462596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1218518455045527354.post-66537294826326317592015-10-22T16:38:12.887+09:002015-10-22T16:38:12.887+09:00Nice round up. Rogue and Bicke have been around long enough to develop their own following. I live in the area and pass by Camiya at different hours and have never seen more than a few people there---they really need to up their game in some way, either through lower prices, better advertising, or, well, something, in order to survive---and I hope they do because I like stopping by there from time to time.Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11394836455501982801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1218518455045527354.post-74347095070370140242015-10-20T17:33:15.612+09:002015-10-20T17:33:15.612+09:00Thanks for these reviews!
